happy birthday to us!

At Christmas we made a decision to go big for our first birthday and end of season bash. Why? Because we’re always trying to challenge what “normal” looks like in amateur football. Why else? Because our players and friends have worked so hard over our first year so we figured they deserved something special!

We held our end of season birthday party at the Euro 2022 venue the Manchester City Academy Stadium. We went big.

The leadership team then spent countless weeks and months planning meticulously to pull off an amazing extravaganza! In the end, on May 27th we partied hard and celebrated what has been a life changing year for most of us.

At the ceremony itself we had two incredible women who represent the best of women’s football as key note speakers: Lou Englefield and Yvonne Harrison. We held our ceremony in Pep Guardiolas press theatre. The BBC even covered the event live on BBC Radio Manchester!! We then partied pitch side with our Manchester Laces scarves around our necks. We had a photobooth and live band! We did it all and everyone came away beaming.
